What's going on?

Surging and wobbling

STOKE SURGE: After a very inconsistent start, Stoke have finally hit a good run of form. They have moved up to sixth place in the table and are in a good position. Apart from their last home game - a 1-0 victory with a goal in the 90th minute - they have been scoring goals for fun; and if you can do that you're going to be a force to be reckoned with. This has come about since Kyle Lightbourne's switch to the left-wing. In this new position he can use his pace to beat any full-back and looks very impressive.

UNBEATABLE BRENTFORD: Since their Championship-winning season, Brentford still haven't lost on their return to the Second Division. Including last season's run, they have been unbeaten for well over 30 matches! Their team spirit is there for all to see. Away at Burnley - one of the favourites for promotion - they recovered from a two-goal half-time deficit and earned a two-all draw.

DEVINE WYCOMBE: Wycombe's form of late has been like all other teams in mid-table -inconsistent. However, their home form has been extremely good and their quick attacking game paid off last week as they hit Reading for five.

WREXHAM WOBBLING: After a very good start to the season, Wrexham now languish in mid-table and are on the way down. Letting in 11 goals in five matches speaks for itself, as they have suffered defeats against Notts County, Luton and Stoke, conceding three goals in each game. One positive point to take from the first dozen games is the forward partnership: Stevens and Faulconbridge have both scored four goals and are looking good.

BRISTOL ROVERS STILL TOP: This again deserves a mention as Rovers are surprising an awful lot of people early on. Pre-season, it was their arch-rivals City who were most bookmakers' title favourites, but currently Rovers are many points and places better off.
