division two

What's going on?
Lancashire launch
WIGAN WINNING: Unbeaten since the start of the season, the favourites now
top the table with a game in hand on most teams. As well as proving their ability to run
teams ragged, their battling qualities have also been there for all to see in recent
weeks.
After trailing 2-0 at Bloomfield Road, they still managed to pick up a point. They went one better at home to Wycombe. They were on the back foot at 1-0 down but managed to turn the game around. Will they ever lose?
PRESTON PUSHING: After an indifferent start, Preston now find themselves in a similar position to last season. Jon Macken has hit a rich vein of form and his goals have helped Preston climb the table considerably. They will be hoping that they dont slip up like they did so drastically last season. Going up?
THE 10 BEST SECOND DIVISION PLAYERS SEEN SO FAR THIS SEASON:
Jason Bowen (Cardiff): Skilful and tricky - a handful for any defender.
Steve Brown (Wycombe): Pacey defender/midfielder.
Darren Ward (Notts County): Future Welsh international goalkeeper?
Matthew Spring (Luton): Battling central midfielder - has a cracking long-range shot.
Robert Taylor (Gillingham): Big, strong and powerful with finishing to match.
Gavin Ward (Stoke): The keeper we couldnt get looks a lot better than last season.
Andy Legg (Cardiff): Very attacking full-back.
Scott Marshall (Brentford): Strong central defender.
Stuart Nethercott (Millwall): Former Spurs centre-back - very good in the air but equally as good on the deck.
Liam George (Luton): Extremely quick forward who possesses a good finish.
THE 3 MOST OVER-RATED PLAYERS SEEN SO FAR THIS SEASON
Jason Fowler (Cardiff): Central midfielder who loses possession too often and too easily. Flynn was looking at him.
Steve Anthrobus (Oxford): Big centre-forward who didnt win anything in the air and was just as poor with the ball at his feet.
David Reeves (Chesterfield): Another forward who didnt look lively and didnt make much space for himself. Why couldnt we have a player like that who scores so many goals?
