The Football League

Type in football on the search engine yahoo and you get 2,215,173 web sites. Most of the British ones are of course for the Premier League, with few concentrating on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Division. However the Football League official site concentrates on the important leagues and its address is www.football-league.co.uk. It contains very up to date news for example when I went on this web site at about 8 o’clock after the Middlesborough match the news-flash was telling me about Wrexham’s giant-killing act. With the headline “FLYNN LAUDS HIS HEROES”. As well as news it also has information on clubs such as manager, address, phone number and the web site address. It also contains fixtures for the League, AWS and the Worthington Cup (not that it’s any use to us!), results, tables and even a history on the football league, explaining how it was developed over the years, which is well worth a read. This web-site makes a change from the usual Premiership-based sites, and as a result is well worth a look, to keep in touch with what is happening in the leagues that count.
