After reading the last issue of RP, Ive noticed something quite startling: the amount of columns ending with the phrase Keep the faith is rapidly rising (from 1 to 4). Its a phrase I first coined a few months ago. Im not complaining - just pointing out that it seems to be a common belief now. We must all still believe in the lads. Were in an incredibly bad state at present and something must be done. Regular readers will know what I think needs to be done and Im not going to go into it now. Whats the point when Im not being paid to state obvious solutions. Thats Flynns role. Now, Im not slagging off Flynn - I respect him totally, he has done a lot, but I'm really worried now as to whether he has done all he can. Anyway we shall see.
I feel sorry for Joey and Kev who had to face the reporters last week when Flynn scarpered after the game. The manager should have to explain what went wrong and explain what they will do about it. I think Mr Flynn would earn a lot more respect of he was honest and didnt try to fob the public off with blatant excuses. Please, if anyone involved in the club at a higher level is reading this, tell the fans what you intend to do. This can be done through Red Passion, the nightly papers or even the Internet.
Speaking of the Internet, I went onto the WFC noticeboard recently. Some very interesting things were up there - including a keeper who wants to play for us in three years time. Give it a look. Its well worth it - just as the RP web-site is. You may have guessed that I have caught the Internet bug. Since starting college, Ive been given free access. Unfortunately, however, I was caught installing photos of Craig Faulconbridge as a screen-saver - and Im now banned.
In the last issue of RP I mentioned that I was going to a college dominated by STFC fans - which is a bit of very bad luck. The taunts have lessened though, and I still wear my Wrexham shirt a couple of days a week. I will convert them - and soon the attendances at Cae Ras will be into double figures. I even got asked out by a Shrewsbury fan the other day - but she didnt quite understand the fact that I HATE Shrewsbury. Anyway, I have my fun telling them all that Shrewsbury are worse than Chester and Telford - and for some reason they hate this even more.
I guess a lot of people will have heard about Mickey T saying: Its ******* freezing on Radio Wales when he though his mike was off. Well, the Daily Mail used it as one of their Quotes of the Week. Nice one, Mickey!
Ideas for new chants: CHRISTMAS IS COMING, THE GOOSE IS GETTING FAT, BUT NOT AS FAT AS ROCKIN ROBIN, COS HES A FAT GIT; WHO ATE ALL THE TURKEYS ; IM DREAMING OF A WIN THIS CHRISTMAS JUST LIKE THE WINS I USED TO KNOW.
I will leave you with one final thought: Faulconbridge a new man after his rest? Definitely
Merry Christmas to all at WAFC
Keep the faith
