Re-live Mickey Thomas’ FA Cup free- kick against Arsenal, and Ian Edwards’ rocket against Derby County at the Baseball Ground in 1980 in this one- hour video. Smirk at Kevin Reeves embracing Justin Fashanu after that goal against Liverpool which won the 1979/80 Goal of the Season. Although this video is not a new release, I recently discovered it on sale in Wrexham at Superpound on Queens Square, for the bargain price of £1 - yes that’s just one pound. As the title implies this is a celebration of 25 years of Match of the Day’s Goal of the Season competition and there are a whole host of spectacular goals from down the years which bring the memories flooding back. Of interest to Wrexham fans are several examples of what Ian Rush couldn’t do in a Robins shirt as well as spectacular efforts from Barry Horne and others. This video is worthy of a better place than a bargain bin and at only a pound surely won’t be in the shop for long. Go and buy a copy while you’ve still got a chance.
