Ten steps to bigger Racecourse gates
By Mike Stevens and Mike Colley

Why do we suffer from low gates at the Racecourse? As two regular supporters, we would like to suggest TEN TIPS to help improve attendance at home matches - all at little or no cost to the club. Oh, and keep on playing good football...
1. SEASON TICKETS (1) - Make these available for the Wing Stands as well as the Centre Stand. Cheaper - therefore could increase the number of season ticket holders at the beginning of the season.
2. SEASON TICKETS (2) - Sell season tickets after FA Cup Round 3 at a reduced rate. Those who are becoming regular supporters are given a chance to commit themselves to the end of the season.
3. FREE TICKETS FOR SELECTED EVENING GAMES - Admit children free if accompanied by an adult.
4. VOUCHERS - If giving vouchers away for use at later important matches, advertise this, so that it can increase the take-up. It might need to be a late advert, so that Man City supporters etc are not able to muscle in on the offer.
5. CREDIT CARDS - Make telephone bookings easier by accepting credit cards (not available the last time I booked).
6. CUT-PRICE TICKETS - Make a special offer for groups of supporters eg. 10 tickets for the price of 9. Or make it easier to buy tickets for matches ahead - say, 5 tickets for forthcoming matches for the price of 4.
7. PUBLIC TRANSPORT - Make it easier to get to the ground by train, by linking in with local train services. After all, the Racecourse is close enough to the station. Special buses laid on to selected remote villages? A trial period of free transport even?
8. WREXHAM FC ASSOCIATION - Develop links with regular supporters. We go to every home game. Are we on a mail-shot? Develop a "club" for regular supporters - newsletter, discounts, away travel.
9. MERCHANDISE - Can Wrexham scarves and shirts be made more widely available - why not on Mold market?
10. SERVICES & FACILITIES - More imaginative catering, better facilities for disabled supporters, and what happened to the clock? Do we have to stand in the rain to buy tickets?
