The A-Z of Life

B is for Border

B could be for Bannan - one of my favourite 1950s Wrexham players - or for Bury - my most-visited away ground. Or even for Brian: one of the longest-surviving managers in the Football League. I prefer to focus on Border. We're proud to be a Welsh team, but this north-east corner is border country and increases Wrexham's potential to draw a large crowd that straggles the border. There are colonies of hidden Wrexham supporters in every county in the British Isles, but it is the border country that promises most in terms of visible support. All we need is not just a winning team, but loyalty to produce such a team. To carry the word further, we may border on promotion or relegation, but whatever the one constant must be loyalty to the team.
