......on the road......

No.19 - Wigan

- Journey there? We travelled by car starting off at about 1pm, getting to the ground for 2.10pm, one of the shortest away journeys this season.
- The town? We didn’t visit the town but went straight to the ground.
- Ground? The JJB Stadium with a 25,000 all-seater capacity. Like most purpose-built stadiums in Britain, you get a brilliant view with good facilities. The Wrexham fans were allocated the large Adidas Stand along the pitch side - with a total capacity of 8,172.
- Admission price? £12 with £7 concessions.
- The game? Another brilliant performance at the JJB, but not quite as good as last year's scoreline; still a 0-0 draw is a good result against on-form Wigan who have now drawn 11 games this season. There were some arguable refereeing decisions including a disallowed goal from a corner for the third game in a row, but neither keeper was tested.
- Our fans? Over 1,000 packed into the stand ‘boxed’ with netting in the middle and were very noisy just like last season. Gary Bennett again attended the fixture.
- Their fans? Around 5,000 of them -very quiet in such a large stadium.
- Post-match goings on? A walk back to the car parked in the Robin Park retail park - past the annoyed Wigan fans.
- Journey back? Slow getting out of Wigan but still got back for 6.15pm, listening to Radio 5 on the way back.
