No.20 - Wycombe

- Journey there? Leaving from the Turf at 9am, the journey seemed to go pretty quickly, as we were all still half asleep. We arrived around 12.30pm.
- The town? We walked to the nearest chippy, which was about 15 minutes' walk from the ground and had our pre-match kebab. We didn't get to see much of the town, as the ground is near an industrial estate.
- Ground? Since out last visit, builders have knocked the back off the away end and made the stand twice the size.
- Admission price? £16 adults/£10 concessions - over-priced.
- The game? Rogers made two brilliant early saves before Wycombe inevitably got the breakthrough. The goals kept going in and three goals before the interval made the score 4-0 at half-time. In the second half, Brown's free-kick put Wycombe 5-0 up before CF and sub Chalk reduced the deficit.
- Our fans? Around 400 - who didn't get on the players' backs all game.
- Their fans? Quite loud and getting louder as goal after goal after goal flew in. The terrace behind the goal produced the most noise and fans in the main stand just clapped.
- Post-match goings on? A few of us chipped in for a football from the club shop. Using some wooden posts from a nearby skip, we created our own little pitch and set up an eight-a-side match. On leaving, the players' coach got a good view of our game and one of our group shouted: 'THIS IS HOW YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN PLAYING!'
- Journey back? Just over three hours and home by 9.30pm.
