Get You Kit On

Tim Edwards becomes Fashion Correspondent

SEASON 1994/95

When it was announced that Wrexham were going to introduce a new (Terry's) all-gold shirt, I was a little sceptical, but having always been a fan of the colour of Wolverhampton Wanderers' home shirt, I refused to judge until the shirts were unleashed on the Wrexham public. I hasten to add that the shirt exceeded my expectations, and seeing a sea of gold splash over the Kop and adjoining stands (or stand back then!), it seemed that I was not alone in being overawed by it.

The fashionable fold-down collar is predominantly black, with a black and gold trim, and a single stud button. The EN-S 'E' logo is dark-blue, and is once again the logo that determines the all-over background print. The Wrexham Lager logo on my shirt faded slightly, but I put that down to the large amount of time I spent wearing it. It still comes out for an airing now and again, and is a useful, fashionable bed shirt!
The shirt was vastly comfortable to wear, and was the first in my recollection to include the official Football League badges on both sleeves. Its only let down was that the material 'bubbled-up' quite badly, and left my shirt looking like it had a bad case of acne.

VERDICT: Golden 7/10.
