Xmas: a time for shopping?

Well, it is that time of year again. Buying presents for people you only see once a year, fighting your way through the hordes of manic shoppers, spending money on rubbish that no-one really wants anyway, and we all know that the batteries are not included.

You either love it or hate it! Personally I love it, but I know many of you out there would rather support Chester than brave the shops at Christmas time!! Well, I've found the ideal solution for all you faint-hearted, shopping scaredy-cats - none other than the superb Wrexham Direct catalogue!!!

We all know what a great invention this is for the fans of football bits and bobs, and what better time to make use of it than at Christmas. There really is something for everyone here, and below are just some of my suggestions which might help this Festive Season:

Dad: Any Dad would love to get this Wrexham F.C. Crest Watch in their stocking this year. At £25, some of you might think this is a bit on the expensive side, but think of the hours of pleasure you're giving here! If you have a smaller budget to work with, then I'd go for the Boxed Hankies - a bargain at this price, and they'll come in very handy when the annual 'flu bug starts his rounds!

Mum: What can you get for the lady who has looked after you, done your washing, fed you, done almost everything for you at one time or another??? I'm not sure you'll find it in the Wrexham catalogue, but you could try...You may like to get her the Brush with Mirror, at only £2 it's a small price to pay to make sure your Mum's hair always looks nice!! Personally, I'd choose the Novelty Slippers on page 5 - but do bear in mind that it is not everyone that can get away with wearing these!!! If you want something to make your Mum go ‘Aaww’ then go for the cute Teddy Bear on the back page - aaww!!!

Brother: Now, I'd say that your Brother would be the easiest person to buy for - if he is a Wrexham fan that is. I think that any of the shirts would go down a treat. If he is a casual kind of guy, then one of the sweatshirts are a good buy at £20, but if he prefers to be smart then one of the fashion shirts are definitely worth a look. But, if he is anything like my brother, I'd strongly recommend the Robins Footie Fresh on page 5!!

Sister: Sisters can be tricky... I know I've got one and I am one!! So the decision has to be just right. I think the best bets here are the Ladies Purse at £9, or perhaps the Beach Bag (a bargain at only £2.50). Neither of these pressies are covered in Wrexham badges so shouldn't cause too much offence - however, if she really is into W.F.C. I'd plump for one of the lovely, snuggly sweatshirts!

Babies: I know there aren't likely to be too many baby-fans, but you can always start them early! Page 4 is filled with ideas for the younger market. I think the Baby's Shawl just might be a bit over the top, but I would thoroughly recommend the Pyjamas - they are so cute!

Hope you find some of these tips useful. Please remember, this advice is just for those of you who are too lazy to traipse round the shops, getting battered by old ladies' handbags, queuing for hours on end. and then on Boxing Day having to take things back again!! I can't understand it myself. Christmas time is the perfect excuse for shopping non-stop, and then don't forget it's the January sales - my idea of Heaven!!! Merry Christmas to you all - I'll be thinking of you!!!!
