Match Programme Food and Toilets

Lincoln

By Alun Thomas
Front cover? Jubilant Imps celebrate a goal.
Value for money? Reasonable - £2.50 for 56 pages, of which 18 are adverts.
Decent content? All the usual features but, appropriately for a club run by a Supporters' Trust, the whole programme has a pleasant community feel to it. A couple of amusing items - Swindon is "a Berkshire club", apparently, and Ben Futcher (surely the only player in the League who could look Dennis Lawrence in the eye) had his vision restricted earlier in the week by "a large amount of custard in his face and eyes." Erm...as you do.
Attractive design? Without a doubt.
Best article? Probably the Chairman's Notes, and it's not often you can say that. Honest and self-deprecating, Rob Bradley tells us that the pitch is unlikely to be improved for next season due to financial constraints, but there is some good news. There's a chance of grant aid towards a new PA system, and "we will keep you informed about this, although probably not over the PA because you may not hear it!"
Overall? Fair.
Alun Thomas: "The pork and stuffing bap was hot and delicious, but the much-vaunted Lincolnshire sausage roll was a big disappointment. Lukewarm at best, and the Lincolnshire sausages I get from the corner shop are tangier! Even my half-time cheeseburger (I was particularly hungry on the day) was tastier. Bovril and coffee were OK but the tea was a disgrace."

Alun Thomas: "Clean and spacious at Lincoln but no hand-drying facilities."

Elsie Price: "Lincoln - oh dear, what a calamity! I thought I was locked in the lavatory. The bolt was dicky and I had to push my finger down the bolt-hole to get out! Not too bad but nowhere to dry your hands."

Boston

By Alun Thomas
Front cover? The familiar opposition players celebrating a goal.
Value for money? Maybe not - £2 for 40 pages, of which half are adverts.
Decent content? Uninspiring. Some interesting stuff in the Wrexham section, though. Kristian Rogers started last season as the club's no.1, apparently, before "being dislodged by Kevin Dearden". Eh? And Waynne, it seems, has "at last been able to return to the team and was captain of a few matches over Christmas". No wonder we lost at home to Kiddy and Macc during the festive period - our skipper couldn't even walk!
Attractive design? Attractive enough.
Best article? I guess I missed it, if there was one. However, fascinating to note that Neil Redfearn is sponsored by Boston Supporters' Club, Dubai!
Overall? Not great.
Alun Thomas: "At £2.50, Boston's curry and chips (no, not curry sauce - curry) was excellent value - likewise the cheeseburger. Both tea and coffee were palatable."
