Value and mistakes on the old Mole Road…

Superclubs: Unofficial Soccer Yearbook ‘98/’99 - Wrexham (£4.99]

At £4.99 for a 96-page hardback, this publication looks, on the face of it, good value. One of a series featuring all league clubs – as its name implies – it is an unofficial publication.

The book is basically a large diary covering July ‘98-June ’99 with this season’s league fixtures pre-printed on the appropriate dates. Also contained area fair quantity of facts and figures on the club and playing squad. Some of this, however, is incorrect and out of date. Did you know, for example, that we have a ‘Mole’ Road Stand or that Mickey Thomas scored the winning goal in ‘that’ game against Arsenal?

Travel information for visiting supporters is included at the back of the book, although how often you would need to phone a passport office or airport when following Wrexham is questionable!

Overall, reasonable value for money, but at this stage of the season, if you haven’t already got this book then you’d be better off buying a calendar from the club shop for the same price.
