Magazines The Red Passion guide Shropshires Red Army The Shropshire Red The
Shropshire Red is the newsletter-cum-magazine of the Wrexham AFC Shropshire Reds
Supporters Club. The January 1999 edition was Volume 5 Issue 4 so its a
firmly established, and also a very informative and lively production. The
Shropshire Reds are a incredibly well organised and impressively active supporters club.
Page 2 of the current edition indicates just this: a Chairman, a Secretary, a Treasurer
and two high-profile Honorary Members: Tim Vincent and Paul Burrell. The two most famous
living celebrity Wrexham fans? Discuss. The Reds, clearly, also have a thoroughly
well organised district rep system with contacts in Dedleston Heath & St.Martins,
Ellesmere, Oswestry, Shrewsbury, Tanat Valley, Whittington & Gobowen. I think the
Bolshevik Party in Revolutionary Russia would have been proud of such an effective
on-the-ground organisation. The magazine also
includes an intriguing piece on John Humphreys recently-launched Wrexham AFC Shirt
Collection. The aim of the Shropshire Reds Chairman is to collect as many different
styles of Wrexham replica shirt as possible. This sounds like a fascinating project and we
wish him well. Hes seeking only those items that otherwise would be discarded or
destroyed so please give John a ring on 01743 246702 if you can help him in any
way. The newsletter also
features a wide array of Shropshire Reds-related information: Chairmans
Chatter, Sumos Slimmed Down Secretarial Scribblings, Fannys
Fantasy League, Treasurers Tit Bits and Shropshire Reds
Terrace Talk. The publications also highlights the many forthcoming Reds
supporters club events: quiz nights, nostalgia evenings and bi-monthly meetings. You can
also buy a Mold Road Stand brick through the newsletter or a tasty Shropshire Reds enamel
badge or even a Shropshire Reds retractable biro depending, obviously, on your
taste. The Shropshire Reds
have close to 200 full members and raise staggering amounts of money for Wrexham FC
and The Shropshire Red is an informative introduction to one of the most high-profile Reds
supporters clubs. Peter Davies
