WREXHAM
shirt sponsors, Leasedirect Finance, have renewed their commitment to the club,
even though the Dragons have been relegated from the Football League.
The Flintshire-based commercial finance company have agreed to extend their
current Racecourse deal beyond the existing contract that already takes them up
to the end of next season for a further two years.
Wrexham chief executive Anthony Fairclough described it as a recording breaking
deal for the club that is worth in excess of £250,000.
Leasedirect will also continue to offer a range of financial incentives over and
above the basic sponsorship deal.
However, those proceeds will, for the first time, be earmarked exclusively for
use by the Dragons’ Centre of Excellence.
Leasedirect managing director Paul Buchanan said: “The partnership over the past
two seasons with Wrexham has been highly enjoyable and we are confident that the
club will bounce straight back into the Football League, and see no reason why
we shouldn’t continue to back Wrexham towards this goal.
“I also think it is important for Leasedirect to set an example to the rest of
the business community in North Wales that continuing to back Wrexham, the only
major football club in the locality, is important for the area as a whole, as
the club is a focal point for the passions of a great number of people.”
And Fairclough added: “Once again I have been overwhelmed by the outcome of
negotiations.
“They have proved themselves to be an innovative sponsor in the past and once
again have shown their true commitment to the long term future of this football
club.
“I hope that other businesses in the area will follow suit and continue to back
the club, as we all look to give (manager) Brian Little the best possible
platform for gaining success as quickly as possible.”
