MIKE
WILLIAMS said he was determined to help Wrexham bounce back to the Football
League at the first attempt after his professional pride was “hurt” by
relegation.
Wales under-21 international Williams has been with the Dragons for 12 years
and, like many of the youngsters who’ve been at the Racecourse for some time, is
hurting following their dismal season.
But the defender is adamant he wants to be part of a Wrexham side that regains
their league status next season, and has backed the club to do so.
“I’ve been at Wrexham for 12 years and I want to stay here,” he said yesterday.
“I’ve got another year left on my contract and I want to stay, but I suppose
that’s really not up to me. I feel very much part of the club. It’s like a
second home here, and I was very disappointed when we went down. I was part of
the side that was relegated and it hurt, but now I want to be part of the side
that comes back up at the first possible attempt.”
