WST responds to Geoff Moss' comments

WREXHAM
FC Supporter's Trust say it will not invest its £300,000 in the club unless it
receive shares.
The group was responding to comments made by co-owner Geoff Moss in yesterday's
Leader that he would match fund any money put into the club by the trust.
Trust member Lindsay Jones said the Trust had made an offer at the beginning of
last month offering the funds in exchange for equity - but had heard nothing
from Mr Moss until yesterday's story.
He said: "We made an offer in the first week of March to invest the money for a
minority shareholding stake. We've not yet had a formal response. The £300,000
is ringfenced for equity and there's nothing more we would like than to put the
money into the club.
"The trust has provided support to the club - we sell tickets to them, we run
the Junior Dragons, on top of that we have already donated £105,000 to the club
which is a substantial sum.
Mr Moss also said he would also now be prepared to accept a trust representative
onto Wrexham's board of directors in the form of club president Arfon Griffiths.
"The offer of a seat on the board for Arfon should have been made a long time
ago but shouldn't be dependent on the trust putting money in," said Mr Jones.
"We will be inviting Geoff Moss to the next members' meeting at the end of April
where he can share his views with the membership."
Mr Moss comments came after he sold his luxury travel company Elegant Resorts to
Thomas Cook, something which he says will now allow him to spend more time at
the club.
He said a potential £600,000 could provide a war chest for next season's
campaign, whether it be in League Two or the Blue Square Premier.
