WREXHAM
coaches Martin Foyle and Brian Carey are planning to watch some of the country’s
top non-league players in action this month.
North Wales is hosting the annual semi-professional tournament, involving Wales,
England, Scotland and Gibraltar, who have replaced the Republic of Ireland.
Dragons boss Brian Little, who begins a family holiday at the end of this week
said: “Martin and Brian will be at the games because we are aware that some
good, experienced players will be involved.
“We have been monitoring a lot of what’s happening in the Blue Square Premier,
including the play-offs, and we have been busy getting up to speed with what we
need to do to prepare for next season.
“One or two potential targets have been here to have a look around and get a
feel for Wrexham, but it’s the time of year when people discover what’s on offer
and then take their time to come to a decision.”
The Wales squad, managed by Tony Pennock, includes the Welsh Premier leading
goalscorer Rhys Griffiths and the likes of Kyle Critchell, Danny Parslow and
Michael Byrne, who are Blue Square Premier regulars with Weymouth, York City and
Northwich Victoria respectively.
