WREXHAM’S
under-performing senior players will be demoted to the reserves tonight when the
Dragons face Chester City at Buckley Town.
Manager Brian Little is refusing to give up hope even though relegation from the
Football League looks a certainty after Sunday’s 3-0 defeat at Shrewsbury Town.
And he described tonight’s Pontins League game at Globe Way (7pm) as a vital
part of his preparations for Saturday’s Racecourse clash with Notts County.
“In some respects I’m beginning to look ahead to next season,” he said.
“But there is still some pressure on us to win Saturday’s game because, unlikely
though it seems, we could win all four and get ourselves out of trouble.
“With that in mind, our plans this week have been formulated around the two
games and we have teams in mind for Wednesday and Saturday. We might play one or
two from last Sunday’s game against Shrewsbury against Chester to see how they
react.”
Even the players won’t know until today which 16 will be on duty this evening.
