LITTLE has told nine Wrexham players they have no future at the club – with more
departures to come.
Mark Jones, Phil Bolland, Jeff Whitley and Josh Johnson, who are out of contract
at the end of this season, have been released, while Little has given free
transfers to contracted players Silvio Spann, Anthony Williams, Sam Aiston,
Richard Hope and Michael Proctor.
Little's assistant Martin Foyle also confirmed none of the loan signings would
be offered permanent deals and said: “Due to the club’s relegation and
subsequent financial restrictions, we’ve had to make cutbacks and the first task
has been to trim the playing staff.”
Wrexham’s relegation was confirmed on Tuesday, but the Dragons have two matches
left to play – at home to Accrington Stanley today and at Lincoln City next
Saturday.
Foyle added: "There are a further eight players out of contract and Brian will
be speaking to them in the course of the next few days.”
